Working with independent soil scientists, MCM can provide soil certification on request and can select the right soil for the right ground preparation on nationwide construction projects.
BS 3882:2015 covers multi-purpose topsoils, and acidic, calcareous and other specialist soils that are moved or traded.  BS3882 Certified Topsoil must have passed specific analysis parameters to ensure its fertility, soil structure and classification as well as proving it is contaminant-free. Working with independent soil scientists, MCM can provide certification on request and can select the right soil for the right ground preparation on nationwide construction projects. Contact us or call 0330 1281030 to request certification.

BS8601:2013 specifies the requirements for the classification, composition, and use of subsoils for creating soil profiles intended to support plant growth. Our stocks of BS8601 are fully certified. Subsoil stores and transmits moistureto deeper layers, ensuring healthy plant establishment and growth from tree pit to border, lawn, and planting bed.

First-use or primary aggregates are normally from a quarry and have not been used before. This covers all sands, gravels, crushed stones, and certain slags. MCM source locally to the customer site, reducing carbon footprint, emissions and contributing to a healthier environment.

Recycled or Secondary Aggregates have been used, recovered, cleaned and sold as an economic and sustainable alternative, avoiding committing more material to landfill.

MOT stands for Ministry of Transport (an earlier name for the Department of Transport).  In aggregates terms, this means a grade or standard of aggregate to a specification approved and suitable for road laying.
Commonly known as Type 1 recycled aggregate or crushed concrete, it is a sub base that is created using recycled crushed concrete and rubble, from 50mm pieces right down to dust.
6F2 hardcore or crushed concrete is classified as materials sourced, produced and used on site. Where material is imported onto site, it should be classified as 6F5 hardcore or crushed concrete.
From an initial site inspection, our MCM technical team will assess the soil and will conduct testing to define its classification using EWC codes.  This will determine proposed remediation, removal and disposal at approved EA facilities or its reuse and recycling potential.
WAC stands for Waste Acceptance Criteria. These are parameters and definitions of different types of waste. WAC testing is carried out after soil waste has been inspected to determine if the soil contains any contaminants. Once classified as hazardous or non-hazardous, a WAC test will be conducted and its analysis will determine how the contaminants will react in landfill.  Simply put, it will determine which landfill the waste can be sent to.
In one load, our MCM 8 wheel tippers capacity is 20 tonnes or 15 cubic metres.
In one load, our MCM Grab Lorries carry approximately 16 tonnes or 12 cubic metres.
Just provide the tonnage you require and details of the site access and one of our MCM technical team will calculate the most efficient way of delivering to you,  and in how many loads.  Please note this will differ from material to material.
Luckily, we have a factsheet providing full details of how to safely lift and manage bulk bagged deliveries once you have received your order. You can view the MCM Bag Factsheet and other helpful information on our Downloads page.
